A Nation Rich in Resources, Yet Struggling With Poverty
Despite its vast natural wealth, the DRC remains one of the poorest countries on earth.
According to international development organisations, over 70% of the population lives in extreme poverty, surviving on less than US $1.90 a day. This means:
● Families cannot afford food
● Children are kept out of school
● Healthcare is often out of reach
● Communities struggle to rebuild after crises
Poverty is not a reflection of the Congolese people — it is the result of decades of instability,
conflict, and underinvestment.
